A Taste of Bee-keeping

Taste of the Good Life Weekend Sunday 22 August.

During this taster session, bee-keeper Tim Hamblin will give you an overview of bee-keeping. He will cover the equipment that is required, the costs, the time investment and visit our small apiary where you can see two types of hives - a national and a top bar hive. The aim of this course is to give you an insight into bee-keeping. This will prepare you for taking more formal courses over the winter in preparation for acquiring your own bees next spring.

There are only six places available on this course. If there is demand, we will run a second session in the afternoon.

Administration

The course starts at 10 am and finishes at about 1 pm. Part of the session is spent outside looking at the hives. Full protective gear is supplied when you visit the hives. However we ask that you bring plastic gloves (marigold-style) and Wellington boots.

Please book your tickets through the main Taste of the Good Life page .
